Title: How to Talk to Your Clients About Sex When You Aren’t a Sex Therapist
Session description: Clients often bring sexual concerns into therapy indirectly: through relationship conflict, shame, anxiety, trauma responses, identity questions, medication side effects, or a general sense that “something is wrong.” Many clinicians know these issues matter but feel underprepared to address them, especially if they do not identify as sex therapists. This session helps bridge that gap. Attendees will leave with language, structure, and clinical confidence to talk about sex in a way that is ethical, grounded, and appropriate for general practice—without needing to become specialists.
